Meet Dr. Kirstin Carlson

I love orthodontics. I find it exciting to be involved in the orthodontic process that can make a significant and positive change in a patient’s life. For me, it is a privilege to be able to enhance my patients’ quality of life and self-confidence through the creation of a healthy and radiant smile. I feel blessed with the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people and form lasting relationships with them throughout their orthodontic journey. It is fulfilling to see a patient’s new beautiful smile that they get to share with the world. I truly appreciate the opportunity to make a positive difference in my patients' lives.

Education

I attended Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and earned my bachelor's degree with a major in Biology and a concentration in Biomedical Studies. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota, graduating second in my dental class. I was further distinguished by acceptance into the prestigious Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. I completed my studies at Marquette University and received my specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science degree.

Continuing Education

I participate in continuing education at the local, regional, and national levels. I believe it is essential to keep up-to-date on the latest treatment advancements, technology, and research in orthodontics to ensure the highest quality and efficient treatment options for my patients.

Life Outside the Office

I was born and raised in Two Harbors, MN, and I am excited to be home in northern Minnesota. My husband, Luke, and I met during our undergraduate years at St. Olaf College. We are looking forward to raising a family together in Duluth. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and being in the great outdoors. I love hiking on the North Shore, fishing, kayaking, golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, and traveling. I also enjoy searching for agates on the shores of Lake Superior.
